What you can do

Decide how contacts come in and match HubSpot fields with Bridge

Choose between Overwrite and Exclude, review the mapping Bridge suggests, complete the missing fields and check the result. In 9 steps.

  • Overwrite or Exclude
  • Mapping suggested by Bridge
  • Attributes mapped or created
  • The result in Review and sync

Steps

  1. Step 1 of 9

    Find Sync settings

First you decide how to handle contacts that already exist.

In Connections › CRM, step 1 of the setup, Connect CRM, includes Sync settings. There, before the OAuth authorization, you choose how Bridge should handle contacts that exist in both systems. This setting only affects how data is synced into Bridge: your CRM is not updated unless you sync a contact manually. You can change it after the initial setup.

    • Step 1 of the setup: Connect CRM
    • Chosen before the OAuth authorization
    • Only affects what comes into Bridge

  2. Step 2 of 9

Use Overwrite to let CRM data lead

Overwrite gives priority to CRM data.

With Overwrite, contact data in Bridge is automatically replaced with CRM data. Existing information in Bridge is updated to match the CRM.

    • CRM data replaces Bridge data
    • Existing information is updated

  3. Step 3 of 9

Use Exclude to keep Bridge data

Exclude protects contacts already in Bridge.

With Exclude, contacts already in Bridge are not updated with data from the CRM during sync. If needed, you can sync them manually.

    • Bridge contacts are not updated
    • You can sync them manually

  4. Step 4 of 9

    Review the suggested mapping

Bridge suggests how the fields match.

Once HubSpot is connected, the setup moves to step 2, Field mapping, titled Connect Bridge attributes with your HubSpot fields. Bridge automatically suggests a mapping based on standard HubSpot property names. Contacts, Deals and other supported objects, including custom objects, are mapped.

    • Mapping suggested from standard names
    • Contacts, Deals and other objects, custom ones too

  5. Step 5 of 9

    Check the required fields

    Required fields arrive already linked.

Each row shows the HubSpot field (CRM field), its type (Type), the Bridge attribute (Bridge attribute) and the status (Status). Required fields carry an asterisk: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number and Email. Bridge already links them to their attributes, and their status is Linked.

    • Required: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number and Email
    • Status Linked

  6. Step 6 of 9

Map or create the other attributes

Each HubSpot field needs its Bridge attribute.

Fields that do not have an attribute yet, such as Street Address, Annual Revenue, Birth Date, City or Company Name, show Not linked. In the Bridge attribute column, open Map or create... and choose the matching Bridge attribute, or create it if it does not exist yet. You can also map HubSpot custom properties, not just standard ones.

    • Not linked: the field has no attribute yet
    • Map or create...: choose or create the attribute
    • Custom properties too

  7. Step 7 of 9

Decide what is shown and what can be edited

You decide which fields are shown and edited in Bridge.

Each field has two toggles: Visible controls whether the field displays in Bridge, and Editable controls whether users can modify it from Bridge. The essential deal fields, Amount, Deal Stage, Close Date and Deal Name, cannot be hidden and are always synced. These toggles are in the Contacts and Deals tabs; the detail is in the guide Control contact and deal fields.

    • Visible: the field shows in Bridge
    • Editable: it can be changed from Bridge
    • Amount, Deal Stage, Close Date and Deal Name, always visible

  8. Step 8 of 9

    Continue to Review and sync

With the mapping ready, you move to the last step.

When the mapping is ready, click Continue in the bottom bar to move to step 3, Review and sync. Back takes you to the previous step.

    • Click Continue
    • Back returns to the previous step

Watch step 8 on the screen

  9. Step 9 of 9

Review the result of the sync

The last step shows what happened to the contacts.

In Review and sync, Bridge shows the sync summary from HubSpot to Bridge: the HubSpot contacts, the Bridge contacts and the contacts processed during sync, with a donut chart and four groups: Contacts synced, Only in Bridge, Existing in both - overwritten and Partial migration from the CRM to Bridge. To understand each figure, follow the guide Review the HubSpot sync.

    • HubSpot and Bridge contacts
    • Four groups of processed contacts
    • Next guide: review the sync
