What you can do
Stop the HubSpot integration without losing data
Disconnect from Bridge or uninstall from HubSpot, see what happens to the data in each case and how Bridge handles deletions and privacy. In 10 steps.
- Disconnect from Resync
- Uninstall from HubSpot
- Data kept in both systems
- Contact deletion and GDPR
Steps
Step 1 of 10
Open the Overview tab
Disconnecting starts in the Overview tab.
In the Bridge admin console, open Connections › CRM and the Overview tab. From there you can disconnect Bridge from HubSpot at any time.
- Connections › CRM › Overview
- Disconnect whenever you need
Step 2 of 10
Click Resync and choose Disconnect
The Resync flow includes the disconnect.
Click Resync in the bottom-right corner. The Resync flow offers three options: run a full resync, change the connected HubSpot account or disconnect entirely. Select Disconnect and confirm.
- Resync, bottom right
- Choose Disconnect
- Confirm the disconnect
Step 3 of 10
Know what happens to your data
Disconnecting deletes no data.
On disconnect, live sync stops immediately in both directions. Data previously synced to HubSpot remains intact in HubSpot, and data previously synced to Bridge remains intact in Bridge. No data is deleted from either system as part of the disconnect.
- Sync stops in both directions
- Data stays intact in HubSpot and in Bridge
- No data is deleted
Step 4 of 10
Keep reconnection in mind
When you reconnect, the setup starts over.
If you disconnect and later reconnect the same HubSpot account, the previous configuration is not preserved: field mapping, sync settings and activity toggles. You need to complete the setup from scratch, starting with the Connect CRM step of the setup.
- The previous configuration is not kept
- Mapping, sync and activities, again
Step 5 of 10
Uninstall Bridge from HubSpot
You can also uninstall Bridge from HubSpot.
You can also uninstall Bridge from your HubSpot portal. Go to Settings › Integrations › Connected Apps, locate Bridge in the list of connected apps, click Actions › Uninstall app and confirm the uninstallation.
- Settings › Integrations › Connected Apps
- Actions › Uninstall app
- Confirm the uninstallation
Step 6 of 10
Know the effect in Bridge
Bridge detects the uninstall on its own.
When you uninstall the app, Bridge automatically receives a webhook notification from HubSpot. The integration is marked as unsynced in the Bridge admin console immediately, live sync stops in both directions and data previously synced remains intact in both systems. Disconnecting from Bridge and uninstalling from HubSpot lead to the same result.
- Automatic webhook notification
- The integration shows as unsynced
- Same result as disconnecting
Step 7 of 10
Compare each case
This is where the data ends up in each case.
When you disconnect from Bridge or uninstall from HubSpot, HubSpot data and Bridge data are preserved and live sync stops immediately. When a contact is removed from the sync scope, HubSpot deletes its data, Bridge preserves it locally, unsynced, and the contact is removed from the sync scope.
- Disconnect or uninstall: everything is kept
- Contact out of scope: Bridge keeps it, unsynced
Step 8 of 10
Know the deletion webhook
Bridge receives contact deletions from HubSpot.
To comply with privacy regulations, including GDPR, Bridge is subscribed to HubSpot’s contact deletion webhook. The active subscription uses this configuration: "subscriptionType": "object.deletion", "objectType": "contact" and "active": true.
- Contact deletion webhook
- object.deletion · contact · active
Step 9 of 10
Know what Bridge does with a deleted contact
A deletion in HubSpot does not erase the conversation in Bridge.
When it receives the deletion webhook, Bridge dissociates the contact from CRM sync: it breaks the link between the Bridge contact and the HubSpot contact. It does not delete data on the Bridge side: ongoing conversations, message history and local records are preserved. It stops receiving updates from HubSpot for that contact, which keeps working in Bridge as a standalone record. This prevents the accidental loss of active conversations when someone removes a contact in HubSpot.
- The link to HubSpot is broken
- Conversations and history are kept
- The contact stays in Bridge, unsynced
Step 10 of 10
Check retention and request deletion
Retention and data deletion have their own channel.
Bridge’s data retention details are in the Bridge Privacy Policy at bridge.new/privacy. To request the explicit deletion of your data from Bridge, beyond what the automatic webhook handles, contact support at support@sainapsis.com.
