How Chats works

Every conversation with your contacts and your team, in one place

Chats keeps your conversations with contacts and your internal chats with teammates in one list. Find any chat in seconds, see what is still unread and reply on the channel each chat uses, without leaving the screen.

  • Who is who at a glance
  • Find any chat in seconds
  • Unread chats stand out
  • Reply on the right channel

Steps

  1. Step 1 of 6

Contacts and teammates at a glance

The colour of each avatar tells you who is in the chat.

Violet avatars are contacts, the people and companies you serve. Blue avatars are Bridge users, your teammates. A chat takes the colour of the people in it: violet when a contact takes part, blue for an internal chat among teammates. With several people, one circle is split between them.

    • Blue avatar: a teammate in Bridge
    • Split circle: several people in the chat

  2. Step 2 of 6

    Every chat in one list

All your chats in one list, ordered by section.

Pinned chats stay at the top and the rest follow under Chats, each group with its count. Every row shows the last message, its time and how many messages you have not read. Click a row to open the chat; the open chat stays highlighted. New contact and New chat, beside the title, add a contact or start a chat.

    • Pinned first, then Bridge and your sections
    • Each row: last message, time and unread count
    • New contact and New chat, beside the title

  3. Step 3 of 6

    Find the chat you need

Find any chat or contact in seconds.

The filters show All chats, the Unread ones, chats with Contacts or My team, your chats with teammates. The search narrows the list as you type a name, ignoring accents and capitals, and works together with the selected filter.

    • Filter by All, Unread, Contacts or My team
    • Search chats and contacts by name
    • Search and filter work together

  4. Step 4 of 6

    Everything about the open chat

The open chat: who you are talking to and every message.

The header shows who you are talking to and the contact’s details, such as phone and email. On the right are Notes AI, Search, Tasks, Calls and meetings and More options. Below, the contact’s messages appear on the left and yours on the right, each with its channel and time; the ticks on yours show whether it was sent or read. Private notes, seen only by your team, appear in amber with a lock.

    • Header: who you are talking to and their details
    • Their messages on the left, yours on the right
    • Private notes in amber: only your team sees them

  5. Step 5 of 6

    Reply on the chat’s channel

Write your reply in the box at the bottom.

Write in the box at the bottom. Under the text it shows where the message goes, Via WhatsApp, Via email or Internal chat, following the open chat, with Attach and Template beside it. Click Send or press Ctrl + Enter: the message joins the end of the chat and becomes the last message in the list.

    • Choose the channel beside the tools
    • Attach, add emoji, format or a template
    • With no text, the mic records a voice note

  6. Step 6 of 6

Your menu, your status and this guide

The menu takes you through Bridge; Help is always at its foot.

On Chats the menu folds into icons so the conversation has more room; rest the pointer on it to open it over the screen. Your avatar at its foot opens your status, the language and the appearance of Bridge. Help, at the foot of the menu, opens this guide again at any time.

    • Rest the pointer on the menu to open it
    • Your avatar: status, language and appearance
    • Help: this guide and the help center
